Membership
The Friends Group was established in 2009 to encourage an active interest and community involvement in the protection and welfare of the red kite.
All our members should have received our Christmas Greetings card. The result of our Befriend a Kite Schools' competition are now on the BaK page of the website.
As a Member of the Friends you will Obtain a regular newsletter to keep you informed, and a free car sticker. Receive an invitation to a variety of talks and events suitable for the whole family. Have opportunities to carry out volunteering work, meet new people, utilise existing skills or learn new skills. Learn about the ecology of these majestic birds.Become a guardian of our red kites. Receive invitations to social events and the Annual General Meeting in June. We also offer Corporate Membership. Details can be found on the next page.

The membership fee is £6.00 for an individual and £8.00 for a household.
We are very grateful for all your support as a member. Please try and recruit a new member from perhaps within your family, friends or social network. Current membership fees will apply to all these new members.

Annual General Meeting

On Wednesday, June 27th 2012 thirty-one members of Friends of Red Kites attended the 3rd AGM at the Marquis of Granby.The official part of the meeting was short with all reports given and accepted.Ken Sanderson was re-elected as chairman,Harold Dobson as secretary and David Jones as treasurer.The committee members were also re-elected.
Trai Anfield was introduced as our patron.She was honoured to join us and pledged her support to FoRK, our work and the conservation of wildlife generally.She will attend events and help with publicity whenever she can. Trai was presented with a pen and a fleece with our FoRK logo.
Suzanne at the marquis served a very enjoyable meal. Ken provided a picture quiz of pub logos. Everyone enjoyed the social evening and a chance to catch up on kite progress. Thank you to everyone who attended and made this such an enjoyable evening.
